About the Presenters & Topics:
An internationally acclaimed panel of expert practitioners, researchers, and scientists in the field of Autism, including the current and two of the past presidents of the Association for Behavior Analysis, International:

Andy Bondy, Ph.D. has over 35 years of experience working with children and adults with autism and related developmental disabilities. He served as the Director of the Statewide Delaware Autistic Program for more than a dozen years. He and his wife, Lori Frost, pioneered the development of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). He has designed the Pyramid Approach to Education (with Beth Sulzer-Azaroff) as a comprehensive combination of broad-spectrum behavior analysis and functional communication strategies. Dr. Bondy is the co-founder of Pyramid Educational Consultants, Inc., an internationally based team of specialists from many fields promoting integration of principles of applied behavior analysis.
Presentation Title: “Teaching the Language of Emotions to Children with Autism”

Rosy M. Fredeen, Ph.D. completed her graduate training at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she specialized in autism intervention. Dr. Fredeen's primary research interests include early intervention, early communication development, and initiations. Dr. Fredeen has published a variety of manuscripts and peer-reviewed articles on a number of autism-related topics, including pieces on collaborating with pediatricians to increase the awareness, screening, and identification of very young children at risk for autism.

Gina Green, Ph.D., BCBA is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and former president of the Association for Behavior Analysis and the California Association for Behavior Analysis and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Council for Scientific Medicine and Mental Health. Dr. Green is currently in private practice in San Diego as a consultant and is on the faculties of San Diego State University and the University of North Texas. She has authored numerous publications on the treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities and brain injuries, as well as the experimental analysis of behavior. Dr. Green serves on the Board of Trustees and the Autism Advisory Group of the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, the Board of Directors of the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board and the advisory boards of several autism programs and organizations. She lectures and consults widely on autism and related disorders, behavioral research and effective interventions for people with disabilities.

Robert D. Holdsambeck, Ed.D., BCBA has been working with children and adults with developmental disabilities, including those with autism, for more than 30 years. He became licensed as a clinical psychologist in 1987 and in 1997 was one of the first practitioners to be certified as a behavior analyst (#0007). His career includes over 25 years teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels primarily in the fields of behavior analysis and human sexuality. Dr. Holdsambeck's company, Holdsambeck and Associates, Inc., provides services to over 1200 families annually. A majority of these services are behaviorally oriented parent education programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities, including autism. Dr. Holdsambeck was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies. He has been a frequent speaker at state and local conferences.
Presentation Title: "Adding Precision to Measurement and Reality to Predictions in Treatments of Persons with Autism"

Jane Howard, Ph.D., BCBA is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a member of the Psychology Faculty at California State University, Stanislaus where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Applied Behavior Analysis. She is the Founder and Co-Director of the Center for Direct Instruction, an on-campus clinic at California State University, Stanislaus that serves children with a range of behavioral and academic needs. Dr. Howard co-authored the Applied Behavior Analysis textbook, Human Behavior: Analysis and Application with Ellen Reese. She is also the co-author of research studies on teaching and language training for children with special needs that have been published in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and The Analysis of Verbal Behavior. Dr. Howard has made numerous presentations on language and educational applications of Applied Behavior Analysis, including those designed particularly for children with autism, at national and international conferences. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the California Association for Behavior Analysis and has served continuously on the board since 1996.

Hank S. Pennypacker, Ph.D. is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Florida and has been a major figure in behavior analysis through his contributions in research, teaching, and service. He has made significant contributions to instructional design through his work in precision teaching. His book, with Jim Johnston, “Strategies and Tactics in Behavioral Research”, has become a classic and essential reference on methodology in behavior analysis. He helped to establish Florida as a model for behavior-based treatment in the area of developmental disabilities. He is perhaps best known both within and outside the field as the developer of methods and devices for effective training of self-examination for breast cancer and founded a company (Mammatech) to further this potentially life-saving effort. This work has been widely recognized in the behavioral medicine and cancer prevention communities. He is an active Trustee of the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies.

Janet S. Twyman, Ph.D., BCBA is a noted educator and researcher. She is the Vice President of Instructional Development at Headsprout, where she significantly contributed to the development of Headsprout's Sprout Learning™ technology and led the effort to build that technology into a highly effective beginning reading program. Dr. Twyman developed the research methods and systems that led to Headsprout's ground–breaking scientific formative evaluation model of program development. Dr. Twyman has been a long-time advocate and investigator of research-based instruction and systems design. She has conducted research and taught courses focusing on effective instruction, technology and education, teacher development, and systems approaches to effective education. She has published and presented widely on these and other topics of broader conceptual interest. Dr. Twyman has authored several book chapters, and published descriptive and experimental studies on learning and education, and sits on the board of several schools and organizations in the public and private sector.
